Daylight's Depictions and JavaDepict
-
One way out
-
The server does only non-intensive alterations for depictions.
-
The user can then choose a subset of interest from what is
displayed and then apply specific intensive layout rules for the subset.
User frustration can thus be minimised.
-
Another way out
-
The server does all cpu-intensive computations for depictions
(e.g. computations for structues with > 50 atoms) once and stores results
in the database.
-
The server does only non-intensive alterations for depictions
on the fly.
