Connect your computer to a Plan A: Request a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol
(DHCP) Address select
Start -> Settings -> Network and Dial-up
Connections -> Local Area Connection ->
Properties -> Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) ->
Properties and click "Obtain an IP address
automatically" and click "Obtain DNS Server
Address automatically". Upon completion, click
OK to the popup windows."
select Start ->
Settings -> Control Panel -> Network ->
Protocols -> TCP/IP -> Properties and click
"Obtain an IP address from a DHCP server". Upon
completion, click OK to the popup windows."
Execute linuxconf, select Networking
-> Client tasks -> Basic host information ->
Adapter 1 and click dhcp.
or
Execute dhcpcd -BD -h `/bin/hostname`.
Execute linuxconf, select Networking
-> Client tasks -> Host name and IP network
devices -> Adapter 1 and click dhcp.
or
Execute neat, select Devices ->
eth0 Ethernet -> Edit... -> Protocols ->
TCP/IP -> Edit... and select Automatically
obtain IP address settings with dhcp.
or
Execute dhcpcd -BD -h `/bin/hostname`.
Plan B: Set a Static IP Address select Start ->
Settings -> Network and Dial-up Connections ->
Local Area Connection -> Properties -> Internet
Protocol (TCP/IP) -> Properties and click
"Specify an IP address". Enter settings from the
DHCP IP Information table.
Sign up for a unique static IP on the sign up list.
Upon completion, click OK to the popup windows.
select Start ->
Settings -> Control Panel -> Network ->
Protocols -> TCP/IP -> Properties and click
"Specify an IP address". Enter settings from the
DHCP IP Information table.
Sign up for a unique static IP on the sign up list.
Upon completion, click OK to the popup windows.
Edit
/etc/sysconfig/network and
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0.
Enter settings from the DHCP IP
Information table.
Sign up for a unique static IP on the sign up list.
Upon completeion, execute:
/etc/rc.d/init.d/network stop

If you have DHCP capability, go to Plan A. If you don't, go to plan B.
