Partial (fragment) fingerprints.

New feature in 4.51:

• FPP<> a binary dataitem (not externally documented) which contains multiple partial fingerprints.

• Merlin uses both fingerprint types, if available for substructure search screening.

  It dramatically improves the performance of substructure searches for databases containing molecule SMILES with multiple components.

• Database can contain both FP<> and FPP<> data.

Refined in 4.61:

• It now works with reactions. Each '.' or '>'-separated component part gets its own partial fingerprint.

• Abandoned the 'compressed' FPP<>. Complexity vs. space tradeoff wasn't worth it.

• The FPP<> dataitem is now defined as a "normal" n-tuple, containing binary data.

FPP<> generated with fingerprint -m.
