Technology has not matured (API's are not frozen)

Supply it in a form easily usable in what's out there already and stable

Supply it as a cgi element

Supply it in a way immune to changing Java API's
Use it only where needed

i.e. Where Network bandwidth is a problem

You don't know where you'll need Java-based capabilities (low network bandwidth) next
