CD-ROM Databases

Several changes to THOR and Merlin will allow Thor databases to work from CD-ROMs. CD-ROMs use the ISO-9660 file system, which is very restrictive.

Read-only databases

• Any database that is on a read-only medium (e.g. a CD-ROM) is automatically considered read-only.

Suffix list

• New options provide a list of legal suffix names, e.g. ".THOR .thor .THO .tho"

Relative paths

• The .THOR file can contain relative filenames, e.g.

      "medchem96demo.DP"
      "../thordb/medchem96demo_datatypes.thor"
