Loading the raw data into an Oracle table is fast (<3’).
Adding the index to the already existing table is fast (1’20’’).
Loading 1000 additional records from Spresi into an already existing table with 0.5 Mio structures takes 3’’30’ or 0.21’ per structure. The index is maintained.
35 % of CPU cycles are spent in user mode 17 % are spent waiting for I/O.
Loading 0.5 Mio structures with Cartridge index enabled should take 30 hours.
=> Perfect for small single record updates. => OK for medium size bulk loads (e.g. 1K structures) => Larger loads need to drop and recreate the index.
