Example #2: GNU gzip plug-in
A more general plug-in based upon Jean-Loup Gailly’s GZIP data compression utility.
Designed as a replacement for “compress”, it features better compression and freedom from patented algorithms.
The “gzipfs.so” file system behaves as a UNIX disk compression utility automatically processing and decompressing files on-the-fly.
Similar to Stacker, DoubleSpace or DiskDoubler utilities on personal computers.
