Interconversion of Atom Types

• Locally, a donor atom may be transformed into an acceptor atom by removing one attached hydrogen and converting one of its remaining single bonds to a double bond.

• Locally, an acceptor atom may be transformed into a donor atom by attaching a hydrogen atom and converting its double bond into a single bond.
