ABSTRACT

The great power of the DAYLIGHT software is founded in the concept of the thesaurus structure to its databases. Unfortunately many DAYLIGHT databases are converted from other sources, which are not predicated on the basis of having a unique name for a compound. We have been developing strategies which allow us to apply "business rules" to the database conversion/building process which ensures that all our databases are compatable with one another as each page is firmly rooted in an appropriate SMILES whilst the information from the original information supplier is not lost. This allows the rapid and accurate building of concept based datawarehouses for our scientists.
